So...as the power is off, and I didn't know, and I hadn't got my work onto my usb stick, I decided to make a chocolate brownie instead...
Fresh out of the oven....added some extra fudge bits, to make it extra healthy!
See, I run and I bakes my own cakes as well :)
Chatting with my daughter every day while we protest has been really special.
She is smart, funny, empathetic and fiercely liberal.
I am a proud mom.
She is also really good at reminding me that my cinnamon scones were her absolute favorite baked thing I have ever baked.
So today I got the hint and will give them another go.
I so hope that they turn out the same. You never know with me.
My free wheeling approach to recipes gets me in trouble sometimes when I need to deliver the same thing again.
Fingers crossed they are good.
They are in the freezer now getting cold before I pop them in the oven.

A rare midweek bake! Somewhat lacking in oomph but very pretty. Which is my problem with all recipes for bread in a pot. (Very small amount of pre-ferment = very small amount of flavour). I need to find a better recipe. And I need to sharpen my bread knife.

i needed some cheering up so i baked an orange olive oil cake. came out great - i used a blood orange, so the icing on top ended up being tinted pink, haha
